I offer online therapy in Turkish to adults living in different countries when the time difference is suitable. My working hours are weekdays 09:00–20:00 Swedish time.
Being able to express emotions, childhood experiences, family relationships or sensitive experiences about yourself in your native language can provide meaningful comfort in therapy. Even if you live your everyday life in another language abroad, returning to Turkish in therapy may make it easier to access emotions directly and express nuances.
Online sessions follow the same case-formulation and therapy-planning framework as in-person therapy. Sessions take place on a secure online platform, and a link is shared with you before the first meeting.
For online sessions, you need a private environment where you will not be interrupted and a sufficiently stable internet connection.
Ask about availabilityResearch on online EMDR is newer than research on face-to-face delivery, but it has shown promising results, particularly for post-traumatic stress symptoms. Clinical service data suggest that online EMDR is generally acceptable and safe for clients and therapists, with completion, dropout and adverse-event rates not markedly different from face-to-face practice. More recent controlled studies have also reported clinically meaningful reductions in trauma symptoms following online EMDR. Online delivery may therefore be a viable option for EMDR when appropriate technical and privacy conditions are met.
